Joseph "Quincy" Wansik, of 559 Washington St., Freeland, died Saturday evening at the Hazleton General Hospital.

Born in Hazleton, he was the son of Edna (Bachman) Wansik Solarek, Freeland, and the late Joseph R. Wansik and resided in the Freeland area most of his life.

He was a lance corporal in the Marine Corps. His most recent employment was as a construction worker for the Mt. Pocono Construction Co.

He was a member of the Freeland American Legion Post 473 and the Jeddo Stars A.A.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a daughter, Maegen, Hazle Brook; brothers, Eugene, Freeland; and Charles Solarek, Freeland; sisters, Sherri Solarek, Freeland; Barbara Polascik, Lattimer; Edna Warren, Forty Fort; Lee Ann Alfieri, Scranton; and Veronica Young, Freeland; and several nieces and nephews.

McHugh-Wilczek Funeral Home, 249 Centre St., Freeland. The Rev. Manuel E. Stivers. Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Indiantown Gap.
