DEATH OF MRS. R.F. HILL. After Long Suffering She Passes Away at Four O'clock This Morning. To the many friends of Mrs. Robert F. Hill in this city where her severe illness was familiar to them all, the news of that lady's demise did not come at all suddenly. Gradually falling in health, she has for some time been lying at the point of death, until at 4 o'clock this morning she was finally relieved front suffering. Mrs. Hill's Illness has lasted, in its various phases for nearly a year. A partial paralysis last summer followed an attack of diphtheria from which she never wholly recovered. For the past two weeks the illness ban assumed a serious aspect as well as an unusual and peculiar one. The immediate amiss of Mrs. Hill's death was an affliction known to the medical profession as "Addison's disease"—an attention of the supra-renal capsule over the kidneys. The skin becomes dark and the heart's action generally ceases. The disease is as fatal as it is unusual. Mrs. Hill was the oldest daughter of the late V. G. Bartholomew and has resided in this city since her girlhood. She was a teacher in the schools for 3 years prior to 1865 when she became the wife of Col. Hill. Her death will be of interest outside of the city, on account of Col. Hill's wide and favorable acquaintance. The funeral of the deceased will occur at St. Luke's church tomorrow, following the Ash Wednesday services. Mrs. Hill will be much missed by the circle of acquaintances and close friends in which she moved: Possessed of the graces which would have advanced society had she continued to move in it, she preferred to use them in the home and for the advantage of her husband and one son, nearly a young man. In his was her greatest joy and in this her widest duty, in the family circle and he home that she adorned will she be greatest missed. Kalamazoo Gazette March 9, 1886 page 4
