Rev. Holden was born in Rolston, Georgia and had lived in Akron the last 36 years. A World War II Army veteran, he had formerly been employed with the D&S Flooring Company. Prior to that, he worked for the Ron Savoia Construction Co. for 24 years. His memberships included the Wagon Train, Summit County Mounted Patrol, and the Bricklayers Local 7. Rev. Holden attended the Home Missionary Baptist Church.
He leaves his wife, Barbara; two sons; two daughters; his mother, Mrs. Rosa Fausett of Blue Ridge, GA; sisters, Dorothy Brookshire, Dial, GA, Mary Lois Cochran of Ellijay, GA, Evelyn Garland, Cartersville, GA, Shirley Brooks, Cooper Hill, TN, Betty Botts, of Atlanta, GA, Joann McDonald of Akron, and Bobbi Bryson of Lavonia, GA; brothers, Ernest and David, both of Chatsworth, GA, Grady F. of Cummings, GA, and William of Cartersville, GA; plus seven grandchildren.
Funeral services in Missionary Baptist Church on Ronald Rd., Saturday at 1 p.m. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Dunn-Quigley & Ciriello Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
