A pretty wedding was solemnised on Saturday at St Matthew's Church when Miss Eva Gladys Graham, daughter of Mrs R. E. Graham of the Upper Plain, was married to Mr Huia Percy (Johnnie) Haxton, of Totara Street, Lansdowne. The officiating minister was the Rev. W. Bullock.
The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother-on-law, Mr Roy Cottle, of Kopuaranga, looked charming in a frock of cream satin trimmed with silver lace with shoes to match. The veil, which was richly embroidered, was held in place with a wreath of orange blossom. She carried a beautiful bouquet, a gift form a cousin of the bride.
The bride was attended by Miss May Graham, as chief bridesmaid, who was attired in a frock of pink satin, trimmed with gold lace. Miss Rose Graham wore a frock of powder blue satin. Little Maisie Cottle, niece of the the bride, who was flower girl, wore a frilled frock of mauve crepe-de-chine, with lemon and mauve rosebud trimmings. All carried shower bouquets.
