Gerald Brunson Roper age 76, of Fort Walton Beach, Fl. Passed away in a local healthcare facility on Friday, January 11, 2019. He was born July 16, 1942, in Crenshaw County, Al. to Ealum Malachi and Eva Roper. He was Methodist by faith and had attended First United Methodist Church of Fort Walton Beach, Fl.
Gerald had been a resident of the local area since 1965. Some of his favorite hobbies he enjoyed were gardening and antiques. Gerald began his career as a school teacher in 1965 and continued for 53 ½ years. He was a very professional and dedicated well respected teacher who loved his students.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother David Alton Roper.
He is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 53 years marriage. Daughter; Pamela Olson of Huntsville, Al. Three Grandchildren; Chloe Page Fowler, Bianca Jade Olson and Liam Eric Olson. Sister; Lola Vae Becker of Crestview, Fl. Two Nieces and three Nephews.
Following his wishes he will be cremated with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
