Phyllis attended Wolcott High School, earned her GED and attended Hair Dressing School. She worked as a Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant in Litchfield for over 15 years. Phyllis was a dog lover her entire life and was a member of the Connecticut Westhighland Terrier Club and National Westhighland Terrier Club. She attended many dog shows in her life. Phyllis had a green thumb and loved her beautiful plants and flowers. She enjoyed many cruises. She loved spending time with Bob, her family and many friends.
In addition to her husband, Bob, Phyllis is survived by her three sons; Jeff Steeves and his wife Allison of Thomaston, Connecticut, Randy Steeves and his wife Sandra of Jupiter, Florida and Eric Steeves and his wife Jennifer of Harwinton, Connecticut, two grandsons; Michael Steeves and Daniel Steeves, her granddaughter, Kelly Steeves, her great granddaughter, Viviana Merli and her newest addition on the way, future great grandson, Bentley Steeves arriving in October of 2022.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Passion 4 Paws, a non profit animal rescue organization with locations in Dayville and New Milford, Connecticut to honor Phyllis' deep seated love of animals.
