Newspaper Obituary-A. W. Stokes (Albert Wesley Stokes) was born in Indiana, November 1, 1854. He moved to Howell County, Mo. about 1873 and was married to Eudocia Walker on July 30, 1876. Eleven children were born to them, all having been born in Howell County, Mo., five (Girtie, Luther, Sarah, Albert, and Ruby) which preceded them in death, having died in infancy. He moved with his family to a farm near Glencoe, OK in 1911 where he lived until he moved to the town of Glencoe in 1919. He lived there until his death September 7th, being 89 years, 10 months and 6 days old.
He is survived by his wife, Eudocia, and six sons; P. H. Stokes,Stillwater, Walter Stokes, near Glencoe, Earl Stokes, near Pawnee, Robert Stokes, near Glencoe, Fred Stokes, Elmonte, Calif., and Ernest Stokes, near Glencoe; twenty-seven grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
