Corpus Christi High School Teacher Dies
Mrs. Vella Bates Anderson, 42, a teacher of mechanical drawing at Corpus Christi High for 11 years, died yesterday. Her home was at 1117 Palm Drive.
Surviving are the husband, B.E. Anderson; an infant daughter, Mary Catherine, born yesterday; a sister, Mrs. Fay Ruby, Houston; two brothers, Glenn Bates and Dale Bates of Alvin, Texas.
Funeral services will be at the David Peel Chapel today, 2 o'clock, with Dr. George West Diehl officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Paullbearers will be E.W. Smith, B. E. Schultz, E. D. Fischer, Tom Bowles, J. W. Agee and Richard Gillespie, all of whom are members of the high school faculty.
