Judith B. Murphy, 75, of near Somerset, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Mt. Carmel East Medical Center. Judy was born August 28, 1939 in Drakes, Ohio, the daughter of the late Alexander and Susie Popely Buza. She was a 1957 graduate of Corning High School, and a member of the Moxahala United Methodist Church. She retired as a wireman from Lucent Technologies. Judy loved flowers and was an avid gardener, following in her father's footsteps. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Walter Robert "Bob" Murphy, whom she married June 14, 1958; three daughters, Robin (Kelly) Gross, Judy (Kim) Hamilton and Julie (James) Thompson; two sons, Robert Steven Murphy and Patrick Arthur Murphy; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Pilkington; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson Timmy, three brothers and two sisters. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2015 at the BOPE-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME in Somerset, where a memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday with Pastor Carolyn Hoskingson officiating.
