MASTERTON
A young married woman, about 30 years of age, Ada Grace Goldstone, was found dead this morning at 7.45a.m. in the kitchen of rooms which she rented in Villa Street.
Th discovery was made by the owner of the house, Mr A. M. Johnson, who, on returning after seeing friends off by the train, found the back door locked. He entered the house by a window and found deceased sitting on a chair in the kitchen with the gas ring turned fully on, the room being full of gas. Dr Forsyth, on being summoned, could only pronouce life extinct.

Result Of Worry A verdict that deceased had died as the result of coal gas self-administered, while demented over the theft of a fur coat, was returned by the coroner, Mr E. G. Eton, at the inquest to-day on Ada Grace Goldstone, married woman, aged 30.She was found dead at her rooms in Villa Street, Masterton on Saturday.
Evidence was given that deceased had admitted stealing a musquash fur coat valued at £37 10s from a shop in Queen Street and that she was to have appeared in the Magistrate's Court on September 9, charged with theft. She had been very worried over the matter.
In expressing the Court's regret at the manner in which the unfortunate young woman met her death, the Coroner said that tragedies of this nature were becoming all too frequent in New Zealand.
