His brother Daniel W. Monk is also buried in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. His memorial number is 17926748.

Alfred "Honey" Monk, 76, of 1502 Thompson St., died Thursday at home.

He was a retired employee of Harrisburg Hospital; a former employee of The Patriot News Co.; and an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are two foster sons, Michael and Jeffrey Miller, both of Harrisburg; a foster daughter, Beverly Miller of Harrisburg; a brother, Daniel Monk of Harrisburg; four sisters, Mable Cheeseman and Emma Gaither; both of Harrisburg, and Bessie and Mary Monk, both of Steelton; two grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Services will be held at noon Tuesday at Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.

Friends will be received at 1220 Chestnut St.
