LINDA MARRS Obituary

LINDA GAIL MARRS

Sept. 16, 1948 July 29, 2023

In loving memory of Linda Gail Marrs, nee Stephens, born on September 16, 1948, in Paris, Texas, to Brice and Joy Stephens. She passed away peacefully on July 29, 2023, at USC Keck Hospital in Los Angeles from complications of heart failure.

A dedicated and compassionate woman, Linda earned her Certification in Administrative Nursing from UCR and had been a faithful and devoted RN for over 40 years. Her journey began as part of Girls State in High School, and she showcased her talent as the head majorette in the high school marching band. She was a remarkable girls basketball player during her time at Imperial California High School.

Linda founded Hospice of the Imperial Valley and successfully served her community for 27 years. Her caring nature and grace extended to all those she met and served. She witnessed to and prayed for those she encountered.

In December 1969, she married David Marrs in El Centro, and they've been married ever since.

Linda leaves behind a legacy of love and family devotion. Her surviving family includes her beloved husband, David Marrs; and their sons and their wives: Dr. Heath & Cara Marrs, Neal & Layla Marrs, and J Todd & Christina Marrs. She was a doting grandmother to Arden & Hudson Marrs of Palm Desert, CA, and Gavin, Garrett, & Alana Marrs of Ellensburg, WA.

Her joy in life came from watching her sons and grandchildren excel in sports, horseback riding, and attending rodeo events. She cherished good conversations over delicious meals, always holding her Bible close, praising God, and traveling to be with her cherished friends and family.

Christmas, the celebration of Jesus's birthday, held a special place in her heart. Linda found solace in candlelight services, but above all, she treasured the time spent with her family and friends during this blessed holiday.

Linda Gail Marrs will forever be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones and community. Her soul has found eternal peace and joy in the arms of Jesus.

Her favorite charity was Campus Crusade for Christ, found at: Give.cru.org/0569336.

Linda's Celebration of Life Service will be held on August 25, 2023, at 10 am at Church 212 in Palm Desert.
