Debra Anne (Bernard) Fisher passed away at home, surrounded by her family on August 13, 2023. She was born in Tawas City, MI on March 6, 1955, to Berkley and Beatrice (Peters) Bernard. Debra graduated from Hale High School in 1973 and then attended North Central Michigan College where she earned a Nursing degree. She worked for Saginaw General Hospital for 37 years, retiring in 2013. It was at the hospital that Debra met her husband Randy Fisher. They married on February 25, 1978, in Hale, MI during a snowstorm. Debra's passion was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a bit of a "home body" and at home is where she enjoyed crafting, knitting, crocheting, and doing jigsaw puzzles. She also played the handbells in her home church as well as other churches she visited. She and Randy traveled over the years and spent a lot of time in Florida where she began playing cards and games with friends. Debra was a member of the Bay City Noon Optimist Club. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Randy; children, Amy (Brian) Lovato, Nathaniel Fisher, Jennifer (Lisa) Fisher; brothers, Bruce (Ann) Bernard, Daryn (Melissa) Bernard, Bryon Bernard, 5 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Debra is preceded in death by her parents. Services will take place Monday, August 21, 2023, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hale, MI. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am and continue until the time of service at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Esmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale, MI. A luncheon at St. Paul's will follow interment. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission of Bay City or St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
