Wita Hope Black Bear was born on September 28, 1977 in Nebraska to Philip Davis and Alberta Black Bear. Wita made her journey to the Spirit World on April 14, 2022 in Rapid City, SD.

Wita was born in Nebraska and was raised in Wounded Knee, SD. When Wita was an adult, she left the reservation. She had three boys, Carlos, Umpo, and Atreyo. She lived in Rapid City, SD for the remainder of her life. While in Rapid City, she met Jeremy Cottier and had three children, Jeremy Cottier, Jr., Hailey Cottier, and Angel Cottier. Wita was a humble and caring person who was neat and liked to help out where ever she went. She loved writing, drawing, and always had kind words and loved to make people laugh. She will always be remembered for her humor, generosity, and loving smile.

Wita is survived by her children, Carlos, Umpo, Atreyo, Jeremy, Jr. and Hailey; brother, Roger Davis; and aunts, Marlita Running Bear and Violet Morrison.

Wita was preceded in death by her parents, Philip Davis and Alberta Black Bear; daughter, Angel; brother, Aaron Black Bear; aunts,Bernice Black Bear and Lydia Black Bear; and uncle Eugene Black Bear, Sr.

Pallbearers will be all of Wita's Close Friends & Family Members

Honorary pallbearers will be Hunka Sister Nicole Lakota, Jolita Morrison, Ruby Plenty Arrows, Vicky Shoulders, Mona Brewer, Candy Shoulders, Karlene Janis, Daphne Cottier & Family, Matt & Amanda Hadden, DeAnna White, Kevin Black Bear, and All Friends & Relatives.
