Mrs. Lena Elliott Burnette, age 79, of Marion, N.C. died Saturday, January 7, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Asheville.
A native of McDowell County, Lena was born on July 9, 1926 to the late Edgar A. Elliott and Artie Pope Elliott.
She was a member of Carsons Chapel United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Her loving family and extended family will sadly miss Lena.
Her husband, Ralph Burnette, preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Daniel T. Burnette and his wife Ann of Sumter, SC; a step-son, Larry Hollifield and his wife Peggy of Marion; a daughter-in-law, Carol Burnette of Marion; two brothers, Ralph and Johnnie Elliott, both of Micaville; two granddaughters, Jennifer Burnette and Kathryn Naylor; one grandson, Brian Hollifield; and six great grandchildren, Brandon, Noah, Summer, Savannah, Nathan and Katelyn.
Burial will be in McDowell Memorial Park.
