Mr. Griffin was born in Pitt County and was a self employed truck driver. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Draper and was a WW II U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran.
He is survived by wife, Nancy Johnson Griffin of the home; son, Terry Ray Griffin of Greensboro; step-daughters, Lisa J. Ratliff of Greensboro and Nancy Woods of Eden; sisters, Peggy Richey of Wendell; brothers, William K. Griffin of Greensboro and Charles H. Griffin of Summerfield; five step-grandchildren, Ashley Snead, Bridgett Ratliff, J.R. Woods, Tim Woods and Kaitlin Woods.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Asa Griffin and Caddie Winchard Briley Griffin Greeson.
