Clarence "Jay" W. Corey, Jr., 75, of Rockford passed away Friday, May 3, 2019, in SwedishAmerican Hospital.

Born September 20, 1943, in Rockford, son of Clarence and Elsie (Sally) Corey, Sr. Married Sharon Leonard on September 22, 1990, in the Church By The Side Of The Road.

Jay owned and operated Main Auto Body for over 42 years, retiring in 2013. Formerly employed by Paris Auto Body. Jay's passion was fishing. He traveled from Wisconsin to Canada, Florida and Texas as well as deep sea fishing, competing in tournaments or just for fun. Member of Flatlander's Fishing Club, St. Ambrosia Club, Harmony Club, Plug and Pellet Sportsman's Club and the Kingsmen Car Club. A sports fan who enjoyed his teams, the Bears and Bulls. But mostly he loved being with his family at his cabin in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; children, Camie (John) Ciembronowicz, Kimberly (Tim) Dailey, Dana (Terry) Joiner, Troy (Veronica) Corey, Michelle (Jack) Clark, Rick and Jennifer Hughes; grandchildren, Connor and Christian Ciembronowicz, Luke, Jace, Zachary and Emma Joiner, Heather Corey, Madison and Jackson Clark, Hunter and Dylan Hughes, Mandy Watts and Dustin Dailey; great-grandchildren, Addison and Leah; brother, William (Rosemary) Corey; sisters, Margaret Amdur, Jean Borchers and Sharon Miller; sister-in-law, Sandy Corey; many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Robert and Raymond Corey; and sisters, Agnes Miller, Helen DiVerdi and Sally Paris.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of SwedishAmerican Hospital and the Regional Cancer Center, Dr. Joseph Ross and Dr. Merat Kardasia-Esfahani and U of I College of Medicine for their care and support given Jay and his family.

Service at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 11 a.m. to service time. Serving as pallbearers, Luke, Jace, Zachary, Connor, Christian, Hunter, Dylan and Jackson. Burial in Belvidere Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
