Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia R. Burkhart, who passed away Wednesday, April 16, were held Friday afternoon, April 18, in the Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church. Rev. E. E. Schaefer, pastor, officiated, with interment being made in Goodfarm Cemetery.

Miss Ethel Hoffman, pianist, accompanied Paul Finch, Lyle Tambling, Robert Perschnick and John Tock, who sang "In the Garden" and "Softly and Tenderly".

Paullbearers were Maurice, Melvin and Roy Burkhart, Walter Hoffman, William Smith, Jr., and Delmar Ricke. Ushers were Reuel Hoffman and Everett Gantzert.

Among those from a distance were Mrs. Lillie Smith, sister of the deceased, of Marathon, IA., and her three sons, Harold Smith of Newell, IA, William Smith of Sulphur Springs, IA, and Oliver Smith of Spencer, IA; Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Ricke and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Ricke of Benson, Minn., Mrs. Florence Ricke Douglas, and Mrs. Rose Stroubenrouch of Streator.

CARD OF THANKS:
The Burkhart family wish to extend their deepest appreciation to friends and relatives who were so kind during their recent bereavement. The many acts of kindness and sympathy shown them shall never be forgotten.
