From Cottle county, she moved to Tarrant and Dallas counties in 1956. She divorced Don Tucker that same year. Two years later, she married Adolph Stoup in 1958. They had been married for 21 years when Adolph passed away in 1979.

Mildred married Bob Lawless in 1981. They moved to Ellis County in 1985.Bob passed away June 9, 2023. They enjoyed a beautiful life together; their home was their safe haven. They enjoyed the flowers, garden and just sitting on their deck watching the cars go by.

In her own words, " I, Mildred Laverne (Scheller, Tucker, Stoup) Lawless was born March 5, 1930, in Motley County, Flomot, Texas.

My mother was Abbie Cagle and my father was Herman G. Scheller. I had one sister, Marie, two years my senior and a brother, name unknown who died as an infant.

My mother died on March 10, 1930, from complications of childbirth. I was 5 days old; my sister was 2 years and 2 months. I was placed with an aunt (Aunt Mae) who at the time had a newborn baby. She nursed and cared for me until I was 9 months old. Meanwhile, my father and sister had moved back to Montague County where my grandmother and grandfather Cagle lived. Grandmother Cagle cared for me and my sister until our father remarried in 1932.

My stepmother, Maggie, was in a tuberculosis hospital in San Angelo for almost a year. We moved to Aunt Georgi and Uncle Author in King County near Paducah. My father helped them with farming and cattle raising. Later we lived in several surrounding communities where my father worked as a sharecropper. This was during the depression and times were very hard. Both my parents had very little education. I graduated from Paducah High School in 1948. After graduation I worked as a bookkeeper for the Texas Co.

I met and married Don Tucker on January 16, 1949. We had 3 children, Steven Delaney born November 1, 1949; Phillip Herman born on March 14, 1951; and Rebecca Mae born July 9,1954. I also had two miscarriages between Phillip and Rebecca. We lived in Buckcreek community from March 1949 until we separated and divorced in September 1956.

My children and I then moved to Arlington, Texas. We lived with my sister-in-law, Irene, and her family for almost 4 months. In Arlington, I met Adolph Stoup. After going together for almost 2 years, we married on June 14, 1958. We lived in Irving for 26 years. Adolph passed away on October 4, 1979, after a lengthy illness. He was a diabetic and suffered from complications of that disease. I'll always remember his generosity in giving me and my 3 children a home when we had none. We worked together in a cafe business and between the two of us we raised four children.

Two years later, having known Bob Lawless for 15 years, we married on March 20, 1981. We continued to live in Irving until I sold the house, and we built the home in Red Oak.

My husband Bob and my children, their families are the most precious things in the world to me."

Mildred is survived by son Phillip H. Stoup; daughter Rebecca Pulanecki(Jim) and Stepson Robert N. Lawless (Donna). Four grandchildren; Amber Thomas, Rebecca Ann Stoup, Tony Stoup and Jacob Stoup; seven great-grandchildren; Jarrett (Rebecca's grandchild), Taylor, Tucker and Tinsley (Phillip's grandchildren), Hamza, Nathaniel and Jonathan (Steve's grandchildren). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mildred will be joining her son Steven and daughter-in-law Reatha in heaven. Visitation will be held August 10, 2023 from noon until 1:00pm at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel in Waxahachie Texas. Funeral service will follow visitation directly at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to donate to a charity of your choice. If you find yourself with free hours in the day, consider visiting a Memory Care or Assisted Living facility. There are so many of the residents that do not receive any visitors. This would enrich their lives as well as yours.
