Rebecca Jean Anderson, 41, of Peculiar, MO, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, MO. A visitation was held on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. A Celebration of Life was held, after the visitation at the VFW in Harrisonville, MO. Private family inurnment will take place at Peculiar Cemetery in Peculiar, MO. Becca was born June 28, 1982 to Mark G. and Christy J. (Graybill) Anderson in Harrisonville, MO. She was a lifelong resident of Cass County, MO, graduating from Cass Midway Schools with the Class of 2000. She went on to attend Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, MO, to earn her associates degree. Becca spent her career working as a claims adjuster for Farmers Insurance, starting in October of 2008 until her passing. Rebecca Jean loved being a mother and was fiercely proud of her two daughters, Lillian and Lizzy. Lillian remembers her mother "as being an advocate for people to be themselves. She was the best best friend to her kids and supported them more than words will ever say. She is the reason I am the person I will always be and my accomplishments go out to her for making me who I am". Lizzy shares, "I love her so much and though she isn't here she will always be with me; she was always there for me and tried her best. I will always cherish how she made me the girl I am today. She taught me a lot." Rebecca left an indelible impression on everyone she met. With a personality as unique as her select hair color, she was a friend to all. Becca was always hosting the friends she collected at her house and made them family. She once said "I guess I am the light that brought all you dark moths together", she had no idea how right she was. You could feel her unconditional love in every fluffy hug she gave and lived for her family, both blood and chosen. She was crazy and wonderfully weird and we are all looking forward to her haunting us. She loved to tend to her plants, read whatever book she happens to be near, turning the music up loud and making the people around her happy. To say that she will be missed is an understatement as she is the reason so many of us have flourished. Becca is preceded in death by her father, Mark Anderson, and her sister, Katherine Anderson. She is survived by mother, Christy Anderson; her two daughters: Lillian Lamport and Lizzy Lamport; her significant other, Eric Taylor; her "soul mate" and dear friend, Catrina Jurdan; maternal grandparents, Clifford and Judy Graybill; and many extended family and friends.
