Mr. Robert Carroll "Bobby" Brown, age 79, of Campbellsburg, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at The Springs of Oldham Reserve in LaGrange, Kentucky. He was born September 12, 1943 in Campbellsburg, the son of Bishop and Winona (Willett) Brown.

Bobby served in Vietnam (1968-69) with his National Guard unit from Carrollton which included his brother, David. Bobby was promoted to Staff Sargeant and earned a Bronze Star while there. As with many of his fellow soldiers, Bobby's experience in Nam would have an effect on the rest of his life.

Back home, Bobby raised beef cattle and tobacco and later greatly enjoyed his Rocky Mountain horses! He had a tireless work ethic which inherited from his dad, which he instilled in each of his children. Bobby worked a variety of full-time jobs and then spent his last twenty-plus years at the New Castle Post Office. He truly enjoyed the people he served during that time. All the while, Bob would come home mid-day and in the evenings to farm and spend time with his family. He happily retired in 2002 and spent many days at the Henry County Country Club golfing with his friends.

Bobby was a devoted husband, dad, son, brother, and, above all, follower of Christ. He thoroughly enjoyed his big family and many friends. Countless memories were made fishing, hunting, golfing, and traveling and then relived with humor and joy many times over. He loved kids, in general, and his children and grandchildren, in particular.

Bobby faithfully participated in his church his whole life. He taught Sunday School and helped with the children's program for many years. During his last months, several of those "now grown kids" were his caregiving aides.

Bobby was blessed to have two daughters, Marsha and Holly, with his first wife. In 1985, he and Debbie were married, and he became Dad to her three boys: Jerry, Tommy, and Jim. Eventually, their family grew to "in-law" daughters and son and to his great joy, thirteen grandkids.

Surviving are his wife of thirty-eight years, the former Deborah Poland; two daughters: Marsha Brown of Louisville, Kentucky, and Holly Turner and her husband, Rob of LaGrange; three sons: Jerry Wallace and his wife, Kim of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, Tommy Wallace of Louisville, and Jim Wallace and his wife, Katie of Jeffersonville, Indiana; four brothers: Geroge Brown and his wife, Loretta of LaGrange, and Dennis Brown and his wife, Jane, David Brown and his wife Nancy, and Michael Brown, all of Campbellsburg; and thirteen grandchildren: Marley Foust and her husband, Austin; Tate and Elle Turner; and Seth, Connor, Adam, Evan, Meredith, Fletcher, Darcy, Drew, Grant, and Griffin Wallace.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Phillip Brown.

The Henry Simpson Lodge #189, F.&A.M. will conduct masonic memorial services and Reverend Kevin Kimes will conduct funeral services.
