Peggy Lou Rippeon Brandenburg, 89, of Clarksburg, MD, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 6, 2023. Born on November 20, 1933 in Clarksburg, MD, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Clay and Ernestine May Ballenger Rippeon. She was the beloved wife of over 65 years to the late Ira F. Brandenburg.

Peggy graduated from Richard Montgomery High School in 1951. She worked for the Federal Government for over 40 years. She began her career with the Atomic Energy Commission and retired from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Peggy also spent time as the bookkeeper for Brandenburg Construction.

Peggy was a member of the ljamsville United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading her daily devotionals. In her younger years, Peggy enjoyed marching in parades with the Hyattstown Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She loved traveling, gardening, playing games, and spending time with her friends and family, especially all of her grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Peggy was a vibrant woman who lived her life to the fullest until the very end.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Fry (Rod); her son-in-law, Frank White; her grandchildren, Joseph Cooley (Heather), Raymond Griffin (Stephanie), Jessica Dehn (John), and Brian "Bubba" Griffin; her great grandchildren, Logan, Jake, and Liam; her sisters, Connie Magers (Bill), and Shirley Moxley; her brother-in-law, Jerry Seal; her beloved dogs, Angel and Boone; and numerous other family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon White; sister, Brenda Seal; brother-in-law, Bob Moxley; and a special nephew, Jeremy Magers.

Family and friends can gather at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes, P.A., 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701, on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 4pm - 7pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
