Betty Lou Phillips, age 82, of Greenwood, South Carolina, passed away on April 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on January 1, 1941, in Beech Springs, South Carolina, to the late Cecil Ray Acton and Elizabeth Henderson Acton.

Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her two children, Anita Phillips (Burdette) and Beth Busby (Steve), nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her siblings: Norman Acton (Kaye), Rebecca Avery (Sam), and Martha Rush (Caleb). She was a beloved mother who showered her family with unconditional love, kindness, and support.

Betty was a passionate reader who enjoyed immersing herself in books of all genres. She had a curious mind and a thirst for knowledge, always seeking to learn and grow. She was also a woman of the Baptist faith. She attended Nursing School and Lander University and was in the medical profession her entire career.

Betty will be dearly missed by all who knew her, especially her family and friends. Her legacy of love and devotion will live on in their hearts forever.

Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 3:00 pm at Emerald Baptist Church, 110 Laurel Ave East, Greenwood, SC, 29645
