Claudia was a devout Catholic. She was a parishioner at St. Therese in Succasunna for 27 years before moving to Budd Lake and joining St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Flanders for 10 years. She most recently attended church at St. Virgil's in Morris Plains.
The most important thing to Claudia was her family, especially anything centered around spoiling and spending time with her six grandkids. She rarely missed a sporting event, dance recital, or concert/performance no matter how far, or what time of day. She insisted on orchestrating annual summer vacations with all of her kids and grandkids, typically to Long Beach Island and most recently, Keuka Lake in New York. She also enjoyed running road races with her family and picked up golf later in life, a sport she enjoyed with her husband and friends, particularly when in their Florida home.
Claudia was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and John Schoberl Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Charlie Bewalder, her three children, Chuck Bewalder and his wife, Colleen Bewalder, Alison Moquin and her husband, Craig Moquin, and Elizabeth Dziura and her husband, Brett Dziura; her six grandchildren, Abigail Bewalder, Parker Bewalder, Ryan Moquin, Caitlin Moquin, Oliver Dziura, and Quinn Dziura; her two sisters, Madeline Schoberl and Christine Poyatt; and her brother, John Schoberl III.
Claudia's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 4pm to 8pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road, Chester, NJ 07930. A 10:30am funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 61 Main Street, Flanders, NJ. The final interment will be held privately by the family.
