October 1877 he married Matilda David in Milford, Illinois. Surviving are the widow, the children, Mrs. Iona Gerrard of Lake Village, Mrs. Agnes Bailey of Morocco,Schulyer Cox of Demotte, Edwin and James Cox of Lake Village, one brother James Cox, of Roselawn and one sister, Mrs. Anna Gale of Roselawn. Funeral was held at Roselawn Methodist Church. interment at the Roselawn Cemetery.
