Died in the Seminole War. Don't know which one though. He was the father of Dr. Lucian Bonaparte Abney. Dr. Abney had his mother and his father moved to Elizaville Cemetery.

Per Hensell: William Abney, known as "Billy McQueen" (1799-dec. 1836); lived near Edgefield, SC; enrolled Feb 7, 1836 in Capt. Denny's co., 1st Regiment SC militia for service in the Florida War and mustered out at. St. Augustine, FL May 10, 1836 as 2nd Lieut.; married Charlotte Pope.
