Funeral services for Glenda Dolores Thompson, 60, of Malakoff are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Malakoff with Bill McGill officiating. Burial will be in the Malakoff Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Malakoff.
Glenda passed away Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Glenda was born March 4, 1946, in Dallas to Tom Plachy and Naomi Hooten Whitehead. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Thompson; sister, Marie Womack; and father, Tom Plachy.
She is survived by her children, Alan Thompson and wife Laura of Wills Point, Ricky Thompson of Edgewood, Melissa Crawford and husband Todd Gilmore of Malakoff and Shawn Thompson and wife Jill of Florida; mother, Naomi Whitehead of Malakoff; three brothers, Charles Hammond of Malakoff, Walter Hammond of Canton and Gerald Plachy of Kemp; sister, Wanda Shackelford of Malakoff; stepsisters, Louise Martindale of Missouri and Loyce Nance and Joyce Copenhaven of Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren, Mike, Chance, Kayla, Kasey, Kristy, Kylie, Kelsie, Krysta, Kaelan, Kourtney, Taylor, Tyler and Tanner; four great-grandchildren, C.J., Jennifer, Libby and Riley.
