Private, Company D, 7th Tennessee Cavalry, enlisted in Carroll Co, TN on 8/4/1862 and mustered in Trenton, TN on 9/24/1862 furnishing his own horse and equipment worth $100. Captured and paroled with the regiment at the battle of Trenton on 12/20/1862, he served out his one year enlistment and mustered out at Saulsbury, TN on 10/25/1863. He then joined Co K, 2nd TN Mounted Infantry, where
he served as a sergeant until 1865.
He married Mary Loving in 1867 and Evaline (Exey) Suggs King in 1871. His widow applied for a pension in 1918. He was the son of Alfred D and Mary Rust Robinson, and brother to Wilie Dewitt Robinson of Company D, 7th Tennessee Cavalry.
