Archie Richard "Dick" Atwood was born August 1, 1925, in Leland, Utah, the oldest son of Melvin Richard and Lillian Boyd Atwood. He married his sweetheart, Mary Darlene Keele, in 1943, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a veteran of World War II. He worked at Geneva Steel, as a welder. He then was employed by Nebo School District as a custodian at the Park School; later, her worked as Head Plumber for the maintenance department until he retired in 1987. He and his wife served a mission to Manchester England for 18 months from 1989 to 1990. They were temple workers at Provo Utah LDS Temple for many years. Dick survived cancer twice, with the latest one taking his voice. He was a great example of patience, long suffering, and enduring to the end. Archie Richard "Dick" Atwood peacefully returned home to his Heavenly Father, with a smile on his face and his hand on his sweethearts knee, early December 27, 2013.
