LAMAR COUNTY ECHO Thu., Dec. 27, 1984. Troy Lee Frierson of Chiocta died at 7:15 am. Monday, Dec. 24 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Funeral arrangements were pending with Fry and Gibbs. Mr. Frierson was born Oct. 9, 1909 in Chicota. He married Allene Carder on Dec. 30, 1944. He attended Chicota schools and was in the U.S. Army. He was an elder at the Presbyterian Church at Chicota and operated a supermarket at Chicota for a number of years. He had been a mail carrier for nine years. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Judy Weatherford of Powderly; two grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Buck) Frierson and John Frierson, both of Chicota; two sisters, Lavinia Frierson of Chicota and Mrs. Jesse Hughes of Dallas. Military marker states, TEC 5, US Army WW II.
