Mary L. Pierce, 74, Neosho, died Wed., April 2, 2008 at Freeman West Hospital, in Joplin, Missouri, following an illnes. She was 74.
She was born April 7, 1933 in Seneca, Missouri, to Lester Arehart and Elvie (Cantrell) Arehart.
Mary was a lifelong area resident and a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Hope.
She loved God and going to church to worship. She also enjoyed art, knitting and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Wayne Pierce, a brother, and three sisters.
She is survived by five children: Violet Camacho, Chicago, Ill., Elvie Pierce, Ottawa, Kan., Julie Pierce, Parsons, Kans., Dwight Wayne and Charlotte Pierce, Joplin, and Dora and Larry Means, Joplin; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Arehart, Carrboro, N.C.; and two sisters, Dora Buening, Seneca and Darlene Easley, Grove, Okla.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Mon. April 7, at Swars Prairie Baptist Church Cemetery, south of Seneca, with Malcolm Mosby, minister, officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sun. from noon until 5 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
