Bricker John D. Bricker, age 84, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014. He was born August 7, 1930 in Columbus and was a 1948 graduate of the Columbus Academy. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1953 and The Ohio State University Law School in 1962. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. He was employed with Bricker & Eckler Law Firm and Galbreath Realty. Jack was a Mason, an avid fisherman, hunter, and horseback rider. His favorite place in the world was Lake Temagami in Canada. He had a passion for animals and always had a dog by his side. He loved his dog, Lady and cat, Mischief. He was a great cook. Jack was the most unselfish man who would never turn away a stranger. He loved his family very much and will be dearly missed by them. Preceded in death by his parents Governor John W. Bricker and Harriet Day Bricker. Jack will be missed by his children, Claudia (Dr. David) Ruedrich and their children, Austin and Betsy, John W. Bricker II (Julia) and their daughter, Abby Taylor (Adam), Susan McKinsey (Tim), Lara Berkenbush (Ken) and their son, William, Will Bricker (Ashley) and their children, Taylor and Brooklyn, Victoria Garrett (Tyler Tucker) and their children, Stephanie Garrett (Justin Walker), Sienna Tucker, and Clinton James Keck (Aveline) and their children, Corey Keck (Lauren), Colt Keck, Caleb Keck, and Cullen Keck; great-granddaughter, Ella Rose Keck; and former wife, Marilyn who cared for him the past ten years. Special thanks to Amber Cave, Bob James, and Shavanna for also caring for him. Family will receive friends Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, OH where the memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 29. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jack's memory to the Humane Society of Madison County, 2020 Plain City-Georgesville Rd., West Jefferson, OH 43162.
