John Hodge is a son of Abel Hodge and Submit Brooks. He married Charlotte in New York. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. They moved to Michigan by 1850. Charlotte died 2 March 1872 in Galien, Barrien, Michigan. After Charlotte's death, John moved to Marcellus, where he lived with his nephew and niece Cornelius and Sarah [Harp]Tappan. John died of consumption of the bowels at the home of Charles M. Bootman. John and Charlotte were members of the RLDS Church.
