DEATH OF MRS. ANNIE SCOTT
At he home in the south part of Marceline at 6:30 o'clock yesterday morning, Mrs. Annie Scott died after an extended illness. Mrs. Scott had lived in Marceline since the town was in its infancy, having moved here during the lifetime of her first husband, Benjamin Sturgess, who died some 23 years ago. By him she had a son Tilford Sturgess, who is her only surviving child. Mrs. Sturgess was afterward married to Cyrus Scott who died some seven years ago.
Mrs. Scott was 58 years of age at the time of her demise, and she is mourned not only by her son but by a large number of friends who knew her to be an excellent woman and neighbor.
The funeral will occur at the home Saturday forenoon and will be conducted by Elder Keley of the Christian church.
