Roger Cory Lanier, 42, a resident of Newberry Springs for three years, passed away Dec. 8, 2005 in a traffic accident. He was born March 28, 1963 in Newport Beach. He worked as an aerospace mechanic for ITT Industries at Goldstone for two years. He liked riding motorcycles and his family, church and his friends were his special interest. Roger graduated from Huntington Beach High School in 1981. He is preceded in death by his mother, Nelda Lanier and brother Michael Lanier. He is survived by his wife, Daphne Lanier of Newberry Springs; sons, Benjamin Thatcher and his wife, Charla, of La Quinta, Christopher Thatcher of Adelanto, Ross Lanier and Rylan Lanier of Newberry Springs; father, Robert Lanier of Huntington Beach; sister, Diane Phillips and her husband, Jim, of Victorville; brothers, Chris Lanier and his wife Melanie of Huntington Beach and Richard Lanier and his wife Carol of Knoxville, Tenn.; and aunt and uncle Ronnie and Marylin Lanier of Huntington Beach. Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 16, 2005 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mead Mortuary, 36930 Irwin Road.Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005 at 9 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints, 2571 Barstow Road. Burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Park, 37067 Irwin Road.
