Cecil Everett Abbott, 88, of Jerome passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Jerome.
Cecil was born October 25, 1929 in Sunnyside, Washington to Lewis Hobert Abbott and Nancy Winifred Harris. He was raised in Sunnyside and attended school there.
Cecil married the love of his life, Elizabeth Hepworth, August 22, 1947 in Winnemucca, Nevada. They made their home in Jerome, where they raised three children.
Cecil spent the majority of his adult years farming for different farmers around the Magic Valley. After his farming years he worked for the Jerome School District delivering food to the kitchens at all the schools.
He loved fishing, hunting and most of all his family. He also did a lot of small engine repair.
He is survived by his son, Alvin Lewis Abbott, and daughter, Cecelia Beth Worthington; his son-in-law, Randy King all of Jerome. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren three brothers and one sister.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Abbott; daughter, Linda Marie King; as well as both parents, three brothers, two sisters and two great-great grandchildren.
A visitation where family and friends may call will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2018, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 South Lincoln Ave., Jerome. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, April 25, 2018, 1:00 PM, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Second Ward, 100 South 50 East in Jerome with viewing one hour to service. Graveside Service will follow at the Jerome Cemetery.
