Local Notes.
— Mrs. Susan W. Austin died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. H. Spencer, in this city, last Sunday. She was born in Albermarle county, June 12, 1799, and moved with her husband to Missouri and settled in Monroe county where she lived until about nine years ago, when she removed to this city. The remains were taken to the old homestead near Paris for interment. She was a member of the Methodist church for over 60 years.

Deaths
Died, April 28, 1889, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Susan W. Austin, relict of the late Judge R. D. Austin, well known to the old citizens of this county. Deceased was born in Virginia, June 12th, 1779 [sic], and had she lived until June 12 would have completed her 90th year. At a [sic] early afe she united with the Methodist Church, and lived a most consistent Christian life to the time of her death.
She, with her husband, moved to Monroe county about the year 1830, which was her home until 9 years ago, on the death of Mrs. Mary Baskett with whom she had been living since the death of her husband, she went to Palmyra to live with her only surviving daughter, Mrs. Spencer. Three children yet remain to mourn the loss of a most excellent Christian mother. They are Robert, who has been living in California for a number of years, Mrs. B. H. Spencer, of Palmyra, and A. J. Austin, of near Paris. Her remains were laid to rest in the family burying ground on the old homestead, at Austin [sic], on Tuesday, the funeral sermon being preached y Rev. Beagle, of this city.
