Alta Louise Bohm Findlay, 79, died the evening of March 31, 1999, at her home in Portales. She was born Dec. 30, 1919 in Farmer City, Ill, in DeWitt County to Florence Adams and Amos Snow.

She married James "Dick" Bohm of Rockford, Ill. in 1937.

They moved to New Mexico in the summer of 1946. James worked in highway construction and several moves were made after arriving in New Mexico. The family lived in Tucumcari, Alamogordo, Fort Sumner and finally settled in Carlsbad. Mr. Bohm died there in December 12, 1958.

After her husband's death, moved to Riverside, Calif. to be close to relatives. She got her real estate license there.

She married Scott Fndlay in 1960, and remained in California until they moved to Portales after he retired .

She worked as an insurance agent for BMA Insurance while living in Carlsbad and as a real estate agent and antique dealer in California.

Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, cooking and collecting antiques.

Survivors include her husband, Scott Findlay; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James W. and Joanne Bohm of New Orleans, La., John R. and Lori Bohm of Portales, and Edward A. Bohm of Fort Worth, Texas; a step-son, John Findlay of California; one daughter, Clara Waggaman of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Amos A. Snow of Kilgore, Texas; a sister Claire I. Snow.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James W. Bohm and a sister, Vivian Adcock, as well as by her parents.
