"Jake Manley" Alton John Raymond Manley, 90, of Anderson, died Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson.

Born in Pendleton, S.C., on January 2, 1933, he was a son of the late Soloman James Manley and the late Elma Stewart Manley.

Jake was a machinist by trade and retired from Darby Electric after 21 years' service. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran.

He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Logan (Wayne), grandchildren, Stephanie Sorrells (Tim), and Ryan Logan, and great-grandchildren, Grayson Sorrells and Emma Kate Sorrells.

Also survived by brothers, Robert Manley and Johnny Manley and a special nephew, Bob Manley (Dawn).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.

A funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 4, 2023, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625. Rev. Matthew Danuser and Chaplain Mike Linkins will officiate. A private burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Central, S.C.

Visitation will be held prior to the service in The Maple Room of The Standard from 10:00 am - 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home, 4605 Belton Hwy. Anderson, S.C. 29621.

The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the staff of Unit 1 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home for their kindness and wonderful care, as well as to Patriot Hospice.
