David Peery Goodie, age 74, of Bristol, VA, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023, at his home.

David was born on January 15, 1949 in Richlands, VA, and was the son of the late Homer and Mary Groce Goodie. He was a retired foreman boss of Pittston Coal Corporation and had lived in the Bristol area since 1995.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Priscilla "Shell" McGlothlin and Patty Goodie; and a brother Hartsell Strouth.

Great Grandchildren: Clayton Parrott, Kensington Parrott, Amelia Cowart and baby, Bailey Lane, on the way.

Funeral services for David Peery Goodie will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, VA with Rev. Travis Matney and Rev. Mike Altizer officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be Hunter Goodie, Luke Goodie, Alex Branch, Collin Branch, Justin Hess and Stanley McGlothlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Wann, Ted Pruitt, Jeff Gross, David Horton and Clayton Parrott. The visitation will be from 6-9 pm on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
