Erbie Hobson Bertram, 80, Yorktown, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born Saturday, February 13, 1943, in Jamestown, Tennessee, the son of Roy Hobson and Sylvia Ruby (Rhum) Bertram.

Erbie loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He attended the Lifepoint Church for many years and he spent a lot of time studying the Bible and sharing the Word. His favorite pastimes were motorcycles, shooting guns, working on old cars, writing, and recording memories. Erbie worked as a Supervisor for GM for thirty years, owned and operated Bertram Excavating Company for fifteen years, worked for MITS for twenty-three years where he drove a bus, and was Local #1499 president.

Survivors include his wife of forty two years, Tina Bertram; children, Kelli Tobin, LeeAnne (Meagon) Bertram, Ginger Zacharias, Rick Bertram, Eric (Christine) Bertram, and Daniel Bertram; brother, Steve Bertram; grandchildren, Zach Tobin, Skyler (Caitlyn) Bex, Stacy (Baylee) Tobin, Kaylee (Danny) Woodruff, Sarah Zacharias, Riley Bertram, and Amelia Bertram; great-grandchildren, Soephiah Bex, Skyler Bex Jr., Maverick Tobin, Ruby Tobin, and Cheyenne Miller; mother-in-law, Marcella (Jeff) Dickey; and his favorite sisters-in-law, Netia Kirby, Janell Lucas, and Freda Rowell. His parents, Roy and Ruby Bertram; a brother, Guy Bertram; sister, Joann Oxley; and a son-in-law, Mark Zacharias, preceded him in death.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, with Pastor Joey Prewitt officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday or after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
