Mrs. Carl S. Loken of Hayfield Dies

Hayfield- Mrs. Carl S. Loken ( Alice), 82, Hayfield, died Thursday at Maves Rest Home here where she had been a resident the past five years. She had been in failing health for several years.

Mrs. Loken, the former Alice Aarhus, was born January 19, 1888 in Vernon Township, Dodge Co., MN to Knut and Brita Simonson-Exe Aarhus.

She married Mr. Loken on August 4, 1909 at Minneapolis. They moved to Dodge Co. in 1940 and farmed, then moved into town and operated a cafe. Mr. Loken died in 1962.

Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Leonard (Kathleen) Orning of Hayfield and Mrs. Eugene (Lola) Chadwick of Alberton, Montana.

Another daughter, Blanche, preceded her in death in 1934. Mrs. Loken also is survived by seven grandchildren' six great-grandchildren and a brother, Martin Aarhus of Minneapolis.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Myrwood Bagne officiating.

Burial will be in Crystal Lake Cemetery in North Minneapolis.

Friends may call at Cole Funeral Chapel after noon Sunday and at the church one hour before the service.
