Death Of Mr William Jack CHEMICAL COMPANY MANAGER
The death of Mr William Jack, M.B.E., a well known and highly respected Wellington business man, at the age of 64, occurred at Wellington yesterday. Born at Perth, Scotland,, he came to New Zealand in 1884
He was educated at Masterton and studied for the calling of accountancy, becoming a fellow of the Society of Accountants. He was first employed by the Manawatu Railway Company, but was later appointed accountant to Kempthorne Prosser and Company, of which company he became manager in 1910.
He enlisted for active service in 1916 and served in the medical corps. He was awarded the M.B.E. in 1919. On returning to New Zealand, Mr Jack entered business as a public accountant and company manager. He took a keen interest in sport, being a member of two local tennis clubs. He was associated with the Kent Terrace Presbyterian Church. He leaves a brother, Mr E. C. Jack and a nephew Mr J. M. Jack, both of Wellington
The Funeral of the late Mr William Jack will leave 31 Konini Road, Hataitai, at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 1925, for Crematoriun, Karori. Service at 1.45 p.m.
