Obituary

CALHOUN, Mrs. Melvina, daughter of Wm. & Elizabeth Warren, was born June 26, 1818. Married to William Calhoun, Apr 24, 1840. She and her husband were pioneers to Linn Co, Mo., and lived there 41 years. Husband died during the war. Reared five daughters and three sons, and three orphans. Gave them the best education the country afforded. Died at home of a son-in-law, John Mairs, in Browning, Mo., Sept 6, 1881. Buried in family cemetery 4 miles west of Browning. (published 10/5/1881)
