Married May Belle Weatherwax 22 October, 1893 at Algansee Twp.,Branch Co., MI. Neuman and May Belle had nine children:

1. Bertha Blanche Havens (1895-1986, married John Lawrence MAXWELL, nine children, 2. LeRoy COON, no known issue)
2. Raymond Carlton Havens (1896-1985, World War I veteran, married Laura Fay SMITH, one son, married 2. Emma PIERCE, no known issue)
3. Lawrence Carl Havens (1899-1918, died at Camp Merritt, NJ of measles and pneumonia prior to being shipped to Europe to fight in WWI, also buried in Highland Cemetery, never married, no known issue)
4. Byrl Clarence Havens (1901-1989, married Lottie SMITH, five children, married 2. Orpha Smith, no known issue)
5. Marion Claude Havens(1903-1999, married Martha A. HULBERT, three children)
6. Clare Carlyle Havens (1908-1996, married Verba Ellen ALDRED, one child)
7. Ruth Beatrice Havens (1910-1996, married Paul Sidney BROWN, three children, married 2. Earl EVANS, three childen)
8. Truman Neuman Havens (1916-1997, married ? JEWELL, no known issue, 2. Eunice?, no known issue)
9. Victory Foch Havens (1918-1944, married ? BREWER, one child, member of 82nd Airborne Paratrooper Division in WWII, died of wounds at Beek, The Netherlands)

All but the last three of their children were born in Williams Co., OH.

EARLY RESIDENT PASSES AWAY

Neuman Daniel Havens, 85, passed away on Sunday, October 8 following a long illness, at the home of his son, Marion, near Beaverton, where he had made his home for the past few years. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the Beaverton Church of the Brethren at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Ernest Jehnsen officiating, assisted by the Rev. Erma Pierce from the Beaverton Church of the Nazerene. Burial will be made in Highland cemetery.

Mr. Havens was born in Williams County, Ohio, on November 23, 1864, the son of Daniel and Julia Havens. He resided there until October, 1908, when he with his family moved to Gladwin county, where he has lived the rest of his life. On October 22, 1893 he married Miss May Belle Weatherwax in Branch county. Mr. Havens was an active member in the Church of God.

Surviving are his wife, May; five sons, Ray and Marion of Beaverton, Myrl and Truman, of Ypsilanti, and Clare, of Ogden, Utah; two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Maxwell, of Hope and Mrs. Ruth Evans, of Collins, Missouri; two brothers, Sherman, of Bryan, Ohio and Harrison, of Montgomery; also 30 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Two son, Laurence C. and Victor F. preceded their father in death. Gladwin County Record dated 10-11/1950 Column – 3 Page – 1.
