Born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on August 1, 1918 she was the 3rd oldest of 6 children and spent her childhood on the family farm in the Glenrose District near North Battleford. In 1938 Audrey moved to Edmonton where she met her husband to be, David Dyck and they then made Edmonton their home.
Predeceased by her parents, Meno Arthur Hoover and her mother Julia (Haugtradet) Olsen as well as her 5 siblings, Frederick, Archie, Edward, Connie & Junice. She is also predeceased by her loving husband David (1986) and her daughter Carolyn (1974).
Survived by her loving son David Kenneth and his wife Sydney and their children Christopher (Terri) van Dyck and Julia (Josh) Fugle and great granddaughters Ainsley & Kit van Dyck as well as many nieces and nephews.
Audrey was an accomplished sportswoman and excelled in both golf and curling winning many trophies as well as representing Alberta at the National level in golf. Upon Dave's retirement, they spent the winter months in Arizona where Audrey took up oil painting. She became an accomplished landscape oil painter and sold many of her paintings.
After Dave died in 1986, Audrey travelled and took memorable trips to Britain, Italy, France, Germany and Russia. Audrey moved to Capital Care Grandview LTC in 2017.
The family would like to thank her many care givers at Grandview who provided such wonderful care over the years. Our thanks to cousin, Ellen Suter for all her help and guidance in this journey.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family interment.
