SUDDEN ATTACK ENDS YOUNG MAN'S LIFE
JACK WATERFIELD DIES AT DOCTOR'S OFFICE
Local Business Man Expires
In Receiving Hospital
From Indigestion

Suffering a sudden attack of acute indigestion, Jack Waterfield, 39, well known Van Nuys business man succumbed shortly after noon yesterday while receiving first aid treatment in the Van Nuys emergency hospital. According to Dr. A. W. Swenson, Waterfield came to his offices about 11 o'clock in the morning complaining of severe pains. He responded to treatment and was resting easily when he suddenly lapsed into unconsciousness.

Captain D. J. Lavenberg of the fire department and Officer Arthur Borden attempted to revive Waterfield with an inhalator, but all efforts failed. The body was removed to the Van Nuys funeral parlors where funeral arrangements will be announced as soon as relatives living in the east have been notified. The deceased is survived by his wife, Frances Waterfield and a son, Robert, age 9. At the time of death Waterfield was owner and manager of the Van Nuys Transfer and Storage company. He had been a resident of the Valley for the past eight years and was formerly manager of the Van Nuys Ice Delivery, a position he held for about four years. He was a member of the Masonic lodge in New Jersey and leaves his mother, one brother and three sisters, residents of Irvington, N. J. In addition to his business affairs, Waterfield was very active in athletics and at one time was a star player on a Van Nuys championship baseball team.
