She was born Nov. 7, 1924 in Divernon, the daughter of Mike and Esther Szoke Samodai. She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, three brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Cain graduated from Divernon High School and Brown's Business College, Springfield. She was formerly employed by the Illinois Education Association; Federal Housing Administration; Senatorial Secretary for 2 state senators; retiring from the Department of Corrections in February 1990.
Remains will be cremated.
Private graveside services will be held in Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon.
