Kathy L. (Rauch) Shoff, 69, entered into rest after a courageous 27-year battle with Cancer on July 24, 2023 at the York Hospital. She had only recently gone into Hospice Care. She was the loving wife of Keith Shoff and the couple would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on October 20, 2023. Born March 4, 1954 in West York, Kathy was the daughter of the late Richard R. and Marion L. (Gingerich) Rauch. She was a beloved wife, dependable sister, unfailing aunt, trustworthy friend, and devoted Mommy to many Canine Kids. Kathy graduated from West York High School in 1972 where she participated in the Marching Band and Concert Band. In that same year (1972) Kathy participated as a contestant in the Miss York County Pageant.

For many years Kathy worked as Deli Manager for Weis Markets, before obtaining her Opticians Certification (something that she was very proud of) and then working for Sears Optical and most recently York Eye Associates before retiring. Kathy had many interests ranging from cooking to sewing. She even sewed her own Civil War era ballgowns and day dresses from patterns in period publications. She loved going up to the Mountain Cabin in the summer to pick wild blueberries, or in the winter to play in the snow but her biggest enjoyment came from the Ocean City MD area where she had been going since her youth…. The Boardwalk, fishing, crabbing, clamming, and of course the beach at Assateague Island. Some of her greatest joy came from being a mommy to the English Springer Spaniels that were adopted and would become her 4-legged canine kids. Most recently, she joined the Brogue Community Lions Club where she became passionate about Leader Dog puppy sponsorship and where she organized and operated fundraisers to support the puppies that will become future Leader Dogs for the Blind

She was a member of Living Word Community Church, but due to spending so much of her time near Ocean City, she belonged to Fellowship Alliance Church in Ocean Pines MD. In addition to her husband, Kathy is survived by her sister, Rae Ann Wolfe and husband, Richard of Oxford PA; brother Richard Rauch II of York; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved 4-legged little girl, Holly. She was preceded in death by her parents; and mother and father-in-law, Alverta & Clair Shoff, and adopted family members Skye, Allie, Tucker, Sinn, Mr.Tee and Sissy.

The Family would like to express their sincere THANKS to all who assisted in any way but in particular, Debbie and John Ehrat & Rae Ann Wolfe for their unwavering support care and love given to Kathy during this very difficult time of her life.

No other arrangements have not been finalized at this time. In lieu of flowers, etc. Memorial contributions may be made to The Brogue Community Lions, and please put Leader Dog on the Memo line. Send to Brogue Community Lions, 330 South Camp Street, Red Lion, PA 17356
