Alyce J. Nace Quick, 89, of Latrobe passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 in Country Cottage Personal Care Home, Unity Township. She was born May 18, 1925 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Bartos) Vollenweider. Alyce graduated from St Xavier High School in 1945 and then worked there as a nurse's aid, taking care of the Sisters of St. Xavier. She will always be remembered as a caring person, taking care of others and also taking care of animals. She did volunteer work for the American Red Cross and had a special place in her heart for the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was a former member and past president of the Derry Community Center. In addition to her parents, Alyce was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph E. Nace, her second husband, Clair B. Quick, and her daughter, Phyllis "Pinky" Aukerman. She is survived by seven children: Esther "Tessie" Gleckl (Gibs) of Latrobe, Joseph Nace of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Joyce "Laney" Terney of Latrobe, Janet Anderson of Indiana, Del Nace (Paige) of Marietta, GA, Bonnie Keahilihau of Latrobe, and Kimberly Quick von Schlichten (Rev. David) of Greensburg, sixteen grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, a sister Ethel Bethel and a nephew Jack Bethel. Friends will be received Saturday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon in the Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home, Inc. 1500 Ligonier Street in Latrobe, at which time services will be held in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Marty Wright officiating. Private interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Cook Township.
